The UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) came into force in the UK on January 2nd 2007. It aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill.

Any business or organisation that uses or produces electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) is required by law to ensure they take responsibility of the recycling and disposal of their equipment.
